These can extend the exercise into something much more useful where there are problems in meeting specifications or there are complaints General environmental noise measurements to BS4142, BS5228 (or the old PPG24) etc are technically simple and straightforward. Longer term 24 hour monitoring is also a simple process – once the system(s) have been installed and set-up. The technical challenges start when you need to go beyond run-of-the-mill measurements into areas such as tonal analysis, mitigation to meet specific criteria or complaint investigation.
