Using ballistic separation, Shred1 effectively sorts iron-rich ferrous materials from mixed metals after the drum magnet stage, producing two high-value output streams:

• Premium Low-Copper Ferrous Product – With copper content below 0.2%, this fraction surpasses current market standards and commands a premium price.

• Traditional #2 Shred – A mixed metal fraction suitable for further processing or recycling.

By integrating the Shred1 Ballistic Separator into their operations, scrap processors can significantly reduce copper contamination, meet growing demand from steel mills for low-copper shred, and eliminate the need for manual sorting—resulting in lower labour costs and improved efficiency.
