Eriez has announced the launch of its X8-SF Simultaneous Frequency Metal Detector, expanding the company’s PrecisionGuard X8 inspection platform.

The new system has been developed to improve detection performance and reduce false rejects in demanding food processing applications.

The X8-SF uses simultaneous frequency technology, transmitting and receiving multiple frequencies at the same time to adapt to variations in product characteristics.

This approach helps address inconsistencies in conductivity and composition, often known as “product effect”, which can limit the performance of conventional metal detectors.

By using a broader frequency spectrum, the X8-SF provides more stable inspection performance across a wide range of food products, including fresh meat, poultry and dairy.

This helps improve sensitivity to metal contaminants while reducing unnecessary product waste caused by false rejects.

As with all models in the X8 range, the X8-SF features a robust hygienic design, an intuitive touchscreen interface and integrated data capture to support traceability and compliance.

Each system also includes Eriez’ Quality Retail Compliance Kit as standard.

This provides automated performance verification, audit-ready reporting and documented inspection records, helping processors meet strict retail and regulatory requirements.

The X8-SF will be on display at interpack 2026, Hall 12 / C05, from 7–13 May, where visitors will be able to see the system in action through live demonstrations.
