Needle Stick, Sharps Awareness is a CSS Worksafe training course developed to improve knowledge, competence and safer working practices.

Aims & Objectives: This course aims to raise awareness of the risks of needle stick and sharps injuries and outline how individuals can adopt practical safe working practices to minimise the risk of injury and be able to remove sharps safely.

Suitability: All personnel.

Requirements: Students should be physically fit.

Syllabus: Hazards associated with needle sticks and sharps. Types of work where exposure can occur. Where needles/sharps maybe found. Identifying levels of risk.

Disposal. Emergency measures and injury reporting. Safe removal with practical session. Notes. Fully Comprehensive notes will be given to all delegates who attend the course.

Certification: On satisfactory completion of the course a certificate of competence will be issued that will be valid for 3 years.
