Ammonia Awareness
Ammonia Awareness is a CSS Worksafe training course developed to improve knowledge, competence and safer working practices.
Aims & Objectives: Ammonia Awareness training is required for all employees whose work exposes them to the risk of exposure to Ammonia.
Suitability: All personnel.
Requirements: Students should be physically fit.
Syllabus: Introduction. Legislation including the H & S @ Work etc. Act, PUWER, COSHH etc. Basic Principles including: Heat Transfer. The simple refrigeration circuit. Properties of Ammonia including: .
Advantages. Hazards & Risks. COSHH. The use of Ammonia as a refrigerant including: Refrigeration and food preservation. Refrigerants and the Environment. Safety.
Requirements: for Ammonia Systems including: Plant Room safety. Fire Precautions. First Aid.
Operating limits. Notes. Fully Comprehensive notes will be given to all delegates who attend the course.
