As the Glastonbury music festival draws to a close for another year, we look back at one of our more interesting projects involving our Fibre Optic Rotary Joint (FORJ) and a very large mechanical crane structure. Here's the information from back in 2019:
Our FORJ coupled with network switches and Wave-Division Multiplexing cards were used for transporting lighting control and communications data across a network without any dropped packets. The FORJ unit was instrumental in the large crane structure allowing large data and signals to be sent along the fibre cable.
"The FORJ you supplied us with earlier this year performed faultlessly on our new stage, thank you for all your technical help." Tim Steer, Deputy Technical Production Manager - Arcadia Spectacular.
July 2019.
...It's always great to look back on memorable projects such as this one, see our Bespoke Solutions page for other interesting solutions we've worked on.
