Industry Focus: Aquaculture

We start this week's 'Industry Focus' series with #aquaculture. With the over-fishing of the world's oceans, Aquaculture plays a fantastic role in providing food in a sustainable way. Since acquiring part of a company called Aquabeam Ltd in the early 2000's, BGB has been developing our underwater lighting portfolio for the #fishfarming market. Moving from metal halide to LED solutions, our range of Pisces lighting is used in salmon pens all over the world. The fundamental role of the Pisces lights is to slow down the maturation process of the fish, whilst maintaining growth. In the afternoon or evening, the Pisces lights maintain daylight levels and expose the fish to a process called photoperiod manipulation.
