BGB Team Raise £1450 For Cancer Research
Last Saturday, Team BGB laced up their trainers and took on the Race for Life 10K at the Lincolnshire Showground. It was a day filled with determination, reflection, and community spirit as colleagues ran in memory or in honour of loved ones affected by cancer.
Watching the team cross the finish line was a proud and emotional moment. Here's what some of our runners had to say after the race:
Ozana Robinson:
"Ran my first ever 10k race – and lived to tell the tale! I signed up thinking, ‘How hard can it be?’ Spoiler: it was tough. But every step was worth it, knowing our sweat (and maybe a few tears) helped make a difference. 2026, we’re coming for you – hopefully with fewer cramps and even more motivation!"
Alex Holt:
"This was a great milestone for me, as I’d never run a 10K event before. It’s inspired me to take on bigger and better challenges in future. The day was amazing – not just raising money for a fantastic cause, but seeing the commitment and drive from everyone at BGB to finish the race made all the training worth it."
James Tupper:
"Crossing that finish line and completing the 10K without stopping meant a lot, especially after losing our little dog last month to liver cancer. I’m really proud of the five of us who completed it and raised so much for cancer research."
Tony Frisby:
"A truly worthy cause – we all know someone affected by this terrible disease. It was a great experience and a real privilege to run with such a motivated team. I’m already looking forward to next year."
Simon Lunn:
"It was brilliant to be part of a team event raising money for such an important cause. As a regular runner, I focused more on speed than distance, so I was really pleased to clock my fastest 10K in years. Maybe next time we try the obstacle course…"
A huge well done to everyone who ran and a heartfelt thank you to those who came along to support. Together, the team raised an incredible £1,450 for Cancer Research UK – a fantastic effort for a cause that touches so many lives.
